Don't expect a superhero movie. This is more like a long comedic sketchparodying Spider-man.

There are so many wrongs in this movie I 've lost count., but mostimportantly the vision is wrong. I would prefer Raimi/McGuire's visionby far.

Among other things this reboot is missing the transformation fromregular Peter Parker to Spiderman. The most interesting thing to thefranchise to watch. And of course his relation with his uncle (whodoesn't get a single mention in this film) and how his tragic fate wasquintessential to his maturity.

They are still trying to show you the transition from a goofy kiddySpiderman to something more adult but they are failing miserably, because even in the end the character hasn't mature at all.

And it's that "goofy" version of Spiderman that ruins this movie, as asuperhero movie. There aren't any real sentiments at all. Just teenagehumor and pranks. And the final revelation and connection betweenSpiderman and the main villain is too ludicrous to swallow.

For its $175 mil. budget this movie is far from impressive too. Not abig spectacle. All that money went for the CGI Spidey jumping back andforth, but the scenes aren't that impressive and there's a lot to bedesired.

Overall: This movie is already a success in Box office multiplying theearnings more than 4 times its budget, so the producers must be happy.BUT it's more like a spoof of Spiderman and not a proper superheromovie. For the true origins of Spiderman, his transformation, hisrelation with his uncle and the impact of his tragic fate on Peter, youmust look elsewhere...

Spider-Man, at his core, is the original kid superhero. His innocenceand naivete are as important as his intellect and wit. After twoprevious incarnations and five movies, it's this version that finallyputs together a truly faithful portrayal of Peter Parker. Fittingly, ittook the MCU to do it. Tom Holland eschews the portrayals of hispredecessors, and infuses Parker with a genuinely optimistic view ofthe world, and almost a boy crush on Tony Stark. Peter is awkward, nervous and ambitious, to the point where he nearly wrecks himself inorder to show Stark how useful he can be. There is a lot of fun to behad in this movie, be it through Spidey's quips, his amusinginteractions with people, or just times where he falls flat whiletrying to be this great superhero. Peter's classmates get a fair bitmore work; this is the most complete Flash ever put to film, and Ned isa perfect best friend for Peter. It's a fast movie as well, and MichaelKeaton helps keep that going as the counterbalance, his careerrenaissance continuing in excellent fashion. Vulture is not the mostheadline-grabbing Spidey villain, certainly, but neither was ObediahStane for Iron Man, nor Abomination for Hulk. They worked well becauseof who portrayed them, and this is another case of that working in thefavor of the story. Keaton's motivations are simple, but not the sameas a typical villain, which makes him stand out, and potentially showsthat the MCU can create guys who are more than one-trick ponies. Thismovie paces itself well, and just when you think it's safe, it pulls asharp right on you to bring the final act into focus. There's justenough Tony Stark to bolster the bottom line, without having him takeover the film. He's the dad, such as it is, who'd have thought? IronMan is the interweaving thread in this universe, so it's appropriate hebe here, and the aforementioned dad role is amusing and in a way theperfect method to bring Spidey along. Overall, a great time. The stakesaren't as high as they're going to be or have been in MCU movies, butthat's okay. Spidey just needs to keep his feet on the ground.

This movie ignores central established characters of the comicbooks andinstead is used by its left-liberal makers as a brainwashing propagandapiece of multi-culturalism ideology and political correctness. And no,I'm not a racist, I like talented actors of all races if they fit therole (I also didn't like the whitewashing in Doctor Strange). But theydon't fit their roles and were just cast for the sake of it. Diversityjust for the sake of it, not because it makes any sense with regard tothe story. In many Hollywood movies it's done subtly, but here it'svery extreme and obvious. They should have respected the sourcematerial, but they don't care about the comicbooks. The characters hereare named like in the comicbooks, but have otherwise no similarity intraits and looks (like Flash Thompson is an Indian nerd now who likesto slap Peter's ass, I'm not kidding). The disrespect for thecomicbooks goes much further like no spider-sense, a speaking suit andmuch more silly stuff. It's in many respect the worst Spider-Man movieand no fan can be happy with this.
