My wife and I thought this was going to be a horror movie kind of likeLost Boys...it turned out to be so much more. At first, the movie kindof made no sense, but it intrigued us so much we had to keep watching.Movies are rarely made with this much emotion and feeling. I know thateveryone who watched this film could relate to either being bullied orforgetting a friend they grew up with just because they weren't likedby the other kids who liked you. Fitting in is important in school andsurviving school is hard. We've all been there. I hope more kids watchthis movie...and makes them think how stupid their choices are. Youdon't get a do over in life. The choices you make are the ones you lookhave to live with. Some good...and some you regret. I loved this movie.Watch it. Please.

The Synopsis for Boys in the Trees (2016) 720p
It's Halloween 1997 - the last night of high school for Corey, Jango and their skater gang, The Gromits. Childhood is over and adult life beckons. But for Corey, his past has some unfinished business. When he encounters Jonah, a former childhood friend but now victimized by Jango's cruel streak, Corey takes pity on him and agrees to walk him home for old time's sake. What starts off as a normal walk through empty suburban streets descends into something darker and magical as they tell each other ghost stories, drawing upon their fears of the world around them. As they walk through their memories and ghosts of the past, Corey is surprised to discover how much he still has in common with his abandoned friend. But on the night of the grave's delight, even the most buried truths will find a way of coming to life.

Like some have written before me, I was ready for something in the veinof Lost Boys... Instead I was served an amazing coming-of-age story, asurreal depiction of how cruel kids can be - and what good they arecapable of. Part memories, part imagination, add real life, myths, anda sprinkle of the paranormal - this is the recipe for a very good film.
A layered film that should have obligatory screenings at high-schoolsworld wide. (I hope kids today get it)
First allow me to say a few good things about this astonishing film -it is visually magnificent. The camera work is brilliant. The acting issuperb. The segments of story are clever, entertaining and creepy ashell. The locations/sets are amazing. The concept is quite unique.
Unfortunately, it is probably the most boring film I have seen allyear.
No matter how masterfully this film is crafted, it has no soul. Thereis nothing here to lure you in - I found I didn't care what happened toany of the characters, the good ones or the bad ones (that'ssimplifying things because there are no real good or bad here).
Watching this movie is like looking at a cake display through awindow...it all looks so beautiful, but you can't smell or tasteanything. Technically, this film scores a solid 8/10....as far as itsentertainment value goes, I give it a 4/10.
But then again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder...
